Parallel SPICE Circuit Simulator Gets Award

A SPICE simulation running on a single thread or single core can take hours, days or weeks to complete. Re-writing a SPICE tool to harness multi-threaded or multi-core architecture makes a lot of sense because it directly saves engineering and product development time.

EDN Magazine just completed their 20th annual Innovation Awards. Guess what won for the category of EDA: Front-End Simulation and Database Tools?

It was Virtuoso Accelerated Parallel Simulator (APS). This means that you can run Spectre with APS and complete your simulations much faster.

I’d love to hear from real users of APS to learn how the simulation times scale with up to 16 cores.
